Login / Signup / Notifications

I can’t sign up.
Please email us at info@mamatalk.jp. We will investigate your situation.
I received an error message saying “This phone number has been used too many times” when I tried logging in with my phone number.
The external system we use for phone number authentication has security rules which get triggered when the same phone number is used multiple times in a limited time frame. Please try after some time.
I’m an existing user of MAMATALK but am unable to log in.
We have three login methods - 1) Facebook, 2) phone number, and 3) Apple ID. Please make sure that you are logging in with the same method that you signed up with. If the issue persists, please email us at info@mamatalk.jp.
I don’t receive push notifications.
You can change the push notification settings by following the steps below.
  •   1.Tap “Profile” in “Search” tab
  •   2.Tap “Settings”
  •   3.Tap “Push Notifications”

If it doesn’t resolve the issue, please try deleting the app from your device, reinstalling it, and logging in with the same method you signed up with.

Search / Match

What happens if I tap “Hi!” or “Skip” to another user?
The user gets simultaneously notified of your Hi!. If she sends Hi! back, both of you will be notified of the match and private message screen will start.
The skipped users will not be notified. The users to which you have sent Hi! will no longer appear in the search screen, but you can set up to show skipped users in Match settings.
Can I check the users to which I have sent Hi! later?
MAMATALK premium subscription will let you see lists of users to which you have sent Hi! and from which you have received Hi!. This will allow you to send Hi! back or message them later on when you have time.
Can I cancel Hi! that I sent by mistake?
It cannot be cancelled as we notify the user of your Hi! immediately. Please don’t take it too seriously - Hi! is just a casual greeting. We have heard that unintentional Hi! Has led to lasting friendships.
Can I send a message to a user before getting matched with her?
You can send a message if you go to the user’s profile detail page without being matched with her. If you no longer wish to receive messages from someone, you can swipe left her message to block her. She will not be notified of your blocking.
“No more profiles to show” is displayed on my search screen.
You will see more profiles if you widen your match settings or turn on “show skipped profiles”.
I don’t get matches as often as I expected.
Users who receive more Hi!s tend to have more profile fields filled out. We also suggest that you expand your bio by describing your hobbies, child-related interests, and what type of mom friends you are looking for. Updating your profile photo to show your face or your character should help too!
I get matches but they don’t evolve into private message communication.
When you receive match notifications, be proactive and try to make conversation by sending them a message with topics in common or questions about what’s written in their bios. (e.g. “I’m also a mom of two girls in your neighborhood. It would be great if we can exchange local info!”)
Can I remove sent messages?
You can’t. We ask users to be responsible with personal information they disclose to other users in the app. If you accidentally sent your personal information to others, please email us at info@mamatalk.jp with a screenshot of the message you would like us to remove including the other user’s username.

Forum

How can I find my posts in the past?
Please tap the Search icon on top right and search by your username to find your posts in the past.
How can I find posts by my neighbors?
You can filter posts by your region or city by tapping the Filter icon on the top left in the Forum tab. (based on your registered home address info.)

Block / Report

How can I block/report a user to team MAMATALK?
You can block/report a user by tapping the top right icon of her profile detail page. You can also swipe left on her message to block her.
Do you notify users if I block them or report their possible violation of the Terms of Use?
We don’t.
How can I unblock a user I blocked by mistake?
Please email us at info@mamatalk.jp with the blocked username.
What action does team MAMATALK take when users and posts are reported?
We will investigate the case by the end of the next business day. If the user has violated our Terms of Use, we will terminate her account. We continue to monitor suspicious activities on our app, but please don’t hesitate to report to us if you see any male run accounts or possible violation of our Terms of Use.

MAMATALK Premium

What can I do with MAMATALK Premium subscription?
The monthly subscription enables you to have access to unlimited filters and searches to find your perfect mom friends! The following functionalities are included:

  •   ・Search profiles by keywords
  •   ・Filter by mom’s age
  •   ・Filter by work life status (e.g. Maternity leave, Full-time mom, Working full-time, or Working part-time)
  •   ・Show expecting moms only
  •   ・Check Hi’s received & Hi’s sent later (located in “Notifications” tab)
  •   ・No ads
Pricing & how to subscribe
USD 3.50 / SGD 4.50 / HKD 26.35 / PHP 160 per month until cancelled. Payment will be charged to your iTunes account at confirmation of purchase.We offer a 3 day free trial for first-time subscribers to MAMATALK Premium.※Your account will be charged for renewal automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the trial ends.

You can subscribe following the steps below.

Search tab→Tap “Profile” on top left→Tap “Settings” on top right→Tap “MAMATALK Premium”→Tap “Continue” and enter your Apple ID password
Is MAMATALK Premium subscription auto-renewed?
Yes, it is auto-renewed monthly on the same day of the month that you started.Your subscription automatically renews unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the next billing date.Your account will be charged for renewal within the 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
I cannot use MAMATALK Premium features even though I’ve subscribed to it.
Please try the following steps below.

  2.   2. Tap “Settings”
  3.   3. Tap “MAMATALK Premium”
  4.   4. Tap “Restore” in the top right

How can I check my MAMATALK Premium subscription status?

  1.   1. Tap your name in the “Settings” of your iPhone
  2.   2. Tap “Subscriptions”
  3.   3. Find “MAMATALK”

  •   ・「Next billing date: MM, DD, YYYY」
    →you are subscribed to MAMATALK Premium. If you wish to cancel, please tap “Cancel subscription”.

  •   ・「Expires MM, DD, YYYY」or “Cancel subscription” is not shown
    →Your subscription has been cancelled. You can continue to use MAMATALK Premium functionalityuntil the date shown.

  •   ・「Expired MM, DD, YYYY」
    →Your subscription has expired.
How can I cancel my MAMATALK Premium subscription?
1.Open the Settings app and Tap “iTunes & App Store”.
 2.Tap “Apple ID”
 3.Tap “View Apple ID”
 *Sign-in may be required
 4.Tap “Subscriptions”
 5.Tap “MAMATALK”
 6.Tap “Cancel Subscription”


*if you cancel, you can keep using the subscription until the next billing date. No prorated billing.

How can I change the method of payment for my subscription?
You can see and change it in the “Settings” of your iPhone, not within the MAMATALK app. Payment is charged to your Apple ID.

How can I request a refund after subscribing to MAMATALK Premium by mistake?
Payment for your subscription is charged to your Apple ID and Apple makes the final decision on whether your purchase is eligible for a refund. Please check this page if you wish to request a refund.
